2021.12.05 01:00 TotallyAwesomeRacoon Y'all help, I think a friend I met through Reddit committed suicide

So a few months ago, I start talking to this guy who was about to commit suicide the night I was talking to him. I tried my best talking to him, we talked, he told me why he hated his life, I gave him the best advice I could.
He ended up running away from his neglectful parents to a new state, & was struggling to survive for a while 'cause he was homeless
Anyway, a while later (around this time) he messaged me saying how he met these people who were letting him stay with them rent free for a year (he's 17, maybe 18 idk when his birthday is). He was looking at jobs, and was getting healthier (eating more food, even said a few hours ago he would start exercising - I gave him that advice). Just in general, he seemed to be doing a lot better.
But then, he messaged me saying he goodbye & that he would kill himself in 15 minutes. That was almost a half hour ago. I think he's gone, he wouldn't respond to anything I said after he sent the message.
Y'all, I'm really scared & upset. So please, I'm asking you, please message u/massonearth
Nate, if you're out there, I care about you. I'm begging you, don't take your life

2021.12.05 01:00 kinetokkin What's a good non-Christmas Christmas album?

I just re-purchased Neko Case 'Fox Confessor Brings the Flood' and I was thinking about how much of a Christmas sounding album it is to me, but it's not a Christmas album. Maybe that's weird. I was wondering if anyone else has a non-Christmas Christmas album.

2021.12.05 01:00 armed What’s the deal with G class

So for backstory I live in the USA, I can afford to buy a well spec G63 at MSRP or a lightly used one with a dealer markup 5-15k usd.
I walked into the dealership with no knowledge of what’s going on in the Mercedes world and was shocked to see a new g63 in dark green listed for $399,000. Window sticker was like 160 something but they said I’m not taking on home without spending 400k. I’m very well off for myself but no way can I afford a 400k car to daily drive. They also said I can’t order one anymore. Can someone give me some insight on what the deal is?

2021.12.05 01:00 somethingsuperindie Wireless MMO mouse that isn't from Razer?

I currently have the Razer Naga and the Corsair Scimitar. I love the texture of the side keys on the Corsair but they're kinda hard to click and I really don't like playing wired. The Razer Naga was good, but I'm on my 3rd now and it keeps having issues and I'm just kinda put off.
Is there a mouse similar to either of those two (the lighter the better) that's wireless?

2021.12.05 01:00 fantheoriesGPT2Bot [MCU] The Inhumans have been around since before Thanos' invasion.

The Inhumans show up in the MCU during the events of Guardians of the Galaxy vol.2. The reason for their arrival is unknown, but we do know they have existed in the MCU for a while, before Thanos invaded.
It is unknown if they are a completely new species, a remnant of an earlier time period or a different group of people who have been under the watch of humans for thousands of years. They are able to transform their bodies but seem to retain some level of individuality, as seen when their leader is turned into a dog, or when one of their members gets possessed.
The only thing we know for sure is that they came into existence long before the events of Guardians of the Galaxy vol.2, and that they will still have a part in the future of the MCU, probably in the same way that the X-Men have always done.
The question we have to ask ourselves is, would their presence have been possible without Thanos coming to Earth?
One small thing is that they were not present in Avengers: Endgame, which is possible that they were not there at the time but it is also possible that they were already on Earth when Thanos invaded.
For your consideration, what do you think would be the possible reasons why the Inhumans made it to Earth before the events of Endgame? If there were others who also came to Earth before Thanos invaded, who was who?

I have only 2-3 left but still, the ones I have left take up the most space on the map so I assume they’ll take 2-5 hours to complete & ally.

2021.12.05 01:00 Remote-Badger-3199 Grad housing that allows pets?

Hi all. I’m curious if there’s any housing near the law school that allow dogs? I would be a non traditional student and would like to be able to factor in the price of housing but have been struggling to find any that allows pets. Ideally I’d like to live either very close or within a few blocks of bus station that’s directly connected. I’m hoping to not need to rely on a car.

2021.12.05 01:00 Studious_Gladiator66 1001 Movies Chronological by Year

I just came across this Subreddit and look forward to reading the postings going forward. I started watching movies on the list in May of 2016 after coming across 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die while browsing in a big box bookstore. I have been watching movies included in any of the published editions of the 1001 Movies book in chronological order by year. I haven't watched any movies out of order so far, and am now up to 1962. I completed my 403rd movie last night. That equates to a little over 6 movies per month, on average.
I have made an effort to watch all of the movies via purchase, rental, cable/internet subscription, or free public domain access (e.g. The Great Train Robbery on the Library of Congress' website), if possible. I only remember having to watch three films uploaded by others to YouTube because I wasn't able to find them anywhere else. Those were The Smiling Madame Beudet, Napoleon, and Heaven and Earth Magic. And The Smiling Madame Beudet is now on the Criterion Channel. I may be forgetting some others that I wasn't able to purchase/rent/subscribe. "The Given Word" is coming up on my list and also looks to be difficult to find.
This has been a great journey so far. I have always loved watching movies. When I came across 1001 Movies to Watch Before You Die, I realized it would be a way to systematically watch important movies from the history of cinema. Many on the list I had seen before, but the majority I had not. I have discovered that I love films made by Dreyer, Bresson, Lang, Bergman, Powell/Pressburger, P. Sturges, S. Ray, Renoir, Fellini, Truffaut, Godard, Ozu, Resnais et. al. having never seen a film directed by any of them before launching this project. I also did not realize how many other great movies were made by directors of some movies that I had already seen. These include Chaplin, Hitchcock, Kurosawa, Kazan, Kubrick, Wilder, Capra, Ford, Hawks, J. Sturges and others.
In watching the movies chronologically, I have gained a much better understanding of the development and evolution of cinema over time. This includes the transitions to sound and color, but also the development of other new methods (e.g. "jump cuts") and technologies.
There have been movies on the list that I did not enjoy watching, but those have been infrequent, for the most part.
This activity has also allowed me to discover the Criterion Collection. I have since subscribed to the Criterion channel and obtained Criterion discs of some of the movies that have become favorites.
I'm looking forward to the rest of 1962 and the years going forward. These years will start to include movies from my youth. I also look forward to going back and watching other movies made by the directors and actors of the earlier movies on the list, as well as those made by others that relied on them for inspiration.
